I’m Sydney (she/her), and I help adults like you: those who have it within them to prioritize their healing, create an authentic self-image and strengthen their relationships but just need the support to get there.
I help clients reduce traumatic stress, connect with their thoughts and feelings, and boost self-confidence by equipping them with tools to better understand themselves, maintain healthy boundaries and become their best advocate.
Your circumstances are unique, and so are your strengths. Many of today’s solutions for trauma, anxiety, and stress are problem-focused, leading many to feel discouraged or feel like they’re not making real progress. Regardless of the therapy strategy, we engage in, my approach will always include pulling out the strengths you already have to help you adjust to the inevitable transitions in life.
First, we will dive into your experiences leading you to therapy and the source(s) of your distress. Then, we will work on the identified ways to alleviate some of your distress, such as building advanced communication skills, breaking through attachment issues, or working towards behavior changes. Next, we will collaborate on the treatment goals because it’s essential that you have a voice in your care! My clients have learned the tools to transform and live in their truth unapologetically by the end.
I am a Chicago native and alumna of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I became a licensed clinical social worker in Illinois and have since expanded to serve clients in California, Florida, South Carolina, and Texas. I am a former school social worker.
I take a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and strength-based approach to counseling tailored to the client's needs. However, narrative, cognitive-behavioral, acceptance and commitment, and solution-focused therapy will often show up in our therapeutic relationship.
I promote healing, authentic self-image, and strengthening relationships in all interactions and have dedicated my private practice career to mental health support and access through technology.
When I’m not meeting clients, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, aerial fitness, yoga, biking, and traveling.
